Sea Kayaking expedition in the Washington's San Juan Islands, home of the Orcas.
ABOUT PHOTO EXPEDITIONS
Beginning in the fall of 2017, Brilliant Light will begin forming photo expedition teams to explore fascinating locations, rich with opportunities for capturing the beauty of the people and places where we travel. Photo expeditions will bring together both professional and amateur photographers who will work together to teach and advance both camera and editing skills using the latest technology. Each expedition will be led by experienced instructors who will provide the team with the structure, supervision, safety, and support needed to create a successful and memorable expedition.
THE EXPEDITION TEAM EXPERIENCE
Members of the expedition team will work together to set goals and learn essential expedition skills such as navigation, camp craft, cooking etc. Expedition roles will be assumed by team members with each day offering a chance to serve in a new role, while also giving team members a chance to teach fellow team members how to perform a role already learned.
Traveling light will allow the team to explore more of the landscape with less effort, so Brilliant Light Studios will provide team members with a comprehensive packing list, complete with suggestions for reducing the weight of both camera and editing equipment. In addition, Brilliant Light Studios will provide a menu of tech products that can be rented for the expedition, e.g., Apple iPad Pro. To deal with the challenge of providing power for both cameras and editing devices, Brilliant Light Studios will provide a sufficient number of batteries and charging stations free of charge.
Once photo expeditions are announced, we will begin accepting applications for a limited number of participants. For those needing financial assistance, scholarship help will be available.
